The heroic efforts of fellow countryman Lech Walesa, in Gdansk, (3-hour drive to the east of hrtlures) had just helped to bring down the Berlin Wall, (3-hour drive to the west of hrtlures). A democratic government was being put together to replace Poland's old Soviet-controlled, communist government.
As Ronald Regan smiled to himself and reflected upon his own role in these historic events, our family was busy making plans to expand out into the rest of the free world. With access to higher quality materials and machinery, Roman and Henyk quickly begin improving the quality of their spinners through improved production methods and technology.
A few years later, the founders' sons, Tomek and Darek, join the business and sales spread throughout Europe. In the early nineties, the family added crankbaits and jigs to its line of spinners and cooperated successfully with one of the strongest brand names in the world, "D.A.M". New customers started showing up and this motivated the guys to develop new types of products. A nice variety of lures resulted and today HRT is active in dozens of markets worldwide.
Passion has always been the foundation behind HRT's success. Our entire family feels very fortunate to be able to bring it's life-long passion for fishing to work every day. The men all feel that the time spent in the plant creating the lures is well worth the effort, especially since they're the ones who get to do the field testing. There's a world of pleasure in developing and improving lures using knowledge gained while fishing at the lake. Why was that 5-pound, brown trout just looking at my lure? Why didn't it strike? You can't let that happen again! You have to improve something. That's the passion which leads to perfection.
